Nia Sharma Credits Shakira for Inspiring Her Bold Fashion Sense

Mumbai - Actress Nia Sharma has playfully credited global pop icon Shakira for influencing her distinctive fashion choices.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Nia shared a video of the “Queen of Latin Music” performing her iconic 2001 hit *“Whenever, Wherever”*, humorously attributing her style to the song.
“Blame this song for how I dress,” wrote the actress, who is widely known for her bold, gothic-glam fashion statements.

Nia also posted a screenshot from her appearance on MTV India’s *Splitsvilla*, calling it a long-cherished dream. Expressing her excitement, she wrote, “Is it a crime to trip on yourself coz no one else will. Love you @mtvindia @mtvsplitssvilla — being on MTV was lowkey my childhood dream (sic).”

On the professional front, Nia was last seen in the comedy-based reality show *“Laughter Chefs Fun Unlimited”*, featuring Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Vaidya, Karan Kundrra, Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Reem Shaikh, Sudesh Lehri, Elvish Yadav, Rubina Dilaik, Aly Goni, and Kashmera Shah. The show is hosted by Bharti Singh and judged by celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi.

She was also recently seen in the fantasy-thriller-romance series *“Suhagan Chudail”*, where she played a witch named Nishigandha. The show also starred Zayn Ibad Khan and Debchandrima Singha Roy in key roles.

Nia rose to prominence with television shows such as *“Behenein”*, *“Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai”*, *“Meri Durga”*, and *“Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha”*. In 2020, she emerged as the winner of *“Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made in India”*. She has also featured in popular web series including *“Twisted”* and *“Jamai 2.0”*.

*MTV Splitsvilla*, a long-running dating reality show on MTV India, is currently in its sixteenth season, which has been on air since January 2026. The show is hosted by Sunny Leone and Karan Kundrra.

The format follows young men and women competing in tasks while navigating relationships inside the Splitsvilla villa, cut off from the outside world. The season concludes with one couple being crowned the winners.
