Janhvi Kapoor reacts as Khushi joins viral 2016 throwback trend, asks ‘Why is everyone doing this’

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Khushi Kapoor has become the latest celebrity to take part in the popular social media trend of sharing throwback photos and videos from 2016.

Khushi recently posted a series of nostalgic pictures from the year on her Instagram handle, offering glimpses of what she described as a “cooler” version of herself. Reacting to the post, her elder sister Janhvi Kapoor commented humorously, asking, “Why is everyone doing this” (sic).

The post featured several old photographs of the Nadaaniyan actress, most of which showed Khushi posing solo, while a few included Janhvi Kapoor and other friends. Captioning the post, Khushi wrote, “I was definitely way cooler in 2016 (sic).”

Earlier, Khushi’s cousin and Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor also joined the trend, revisiting memories from 2016—a significant year in her life. Sonam reflected on the release of her critically acclaimed film Neerja and the period when she realised her feelings for her now-husband, Anand Ahuja.

“Throwback to 2016, release of Neerja, shooting with @thehouseofpixels for the first time, figuring out that @anandahuja is the love of my life,” Sonam wrote on Instagram.

Actress Ananya Panday has also participated in the trend, sharing moments that marked important milestones in her personal and professional journey. Taking to Instagram, she described how 2016 played a pivotal role in shaping her as both an actor and an individual.

Her post included cherished memories with Shah Rukh Khan’s younger son AbRam, tying rakhi to her cousin Ahaan Panday, holding a film clapboard, winning school medals, and posing with Shanaya Kapoor and Suhana Khan. Ananya also shared bikini pictures using popular 2016 Snapchat filters, captioning the post, “2016 was really it man,” while stating that the year remains very close to her heart.
