Mumbai: Actress Sayani Gupta, known for her constantly evolving screen persona, has opened up about embracing long hair for the first time after spending most of her life sporting short hairstyles due to professional demands.
Taking to Instagram, Sayani shared a video of herself walking confidently in a short white dress while flaunting her long, straight black hair. Along with the video, she penned a candid note reflecting on her personal journey with her appearance.
Recalling her childhood admiration for glossy, flowing hair, Sayani wrote that she had always secretly envied the iconic “Clinic Plus” shampoo advertisement girls while growing up. “As someone with short hair all my life, always cutting my hair for different roles and even for an audition once, and secretly always wanting the ‘Clinic Plus’ girls’ hair growing up… this is a newfound discovery of the self,” she wrote.
Addressing a question she is frequently asked, the actress clarified that she does not use hair pieces, attributing her long hair to patience and consistent care. She also expressed gratitude towards her hairstylists, adding, “And no, I don’t use hair pieces like I get asked all the time. Love to my beautiful hair artists who have been pestering me to grow my hair for a decade now.”
On the professional front, Sayani is currently seen in “Delhi Crime Season 3” and the final season of “Four More Shots Please!”
“Delhi Crime” stars Shefali Shah as Vartika Chaturvedi, a determined senior police officer navigating complex investigations amid intense public scrutiny and political pressure. The series is widely acclaimed for its realism, emotional depth, and nuanced portrayal of systemic challenges within India’s law enforcement machinery. The show has received global recognition and won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, establishing it as one of Netflix’s most powerful Indian originals.
Meanwhile, “Four More Shots Please!” chronicles the lives of four unapologetically flawed women—two in their 30s and two in their early 20s—as they navigate love, ambition, mistakes, and self-discovery against the backdrop of millennial Mumbai. The series also stars Bani J, Kirti Kulhari, and Maanvi Gagroo.
