Geetu Mohandas Hails Kiara Advani’s ‘Toxic’ Performance as Transformational

Mumbai- Filmmaker Geetu Mohandas has lavished praise on Kiara Advani’s performance in his upcoming directorial venture Toxic, describing her work in the film as deeply transformative and career-defining.

Reflecting on Advani’s portrayal, Mohandas said her performance transcends the boundaries of the film itself. “Some performances don’t merely belong to a film — they redefine an artist,” he said. “What Kiara has created on screen is nothing short of transformative. As a director, I am immensely proud of her, not just for the performance she has delivered, but for the trust, commitment, and heart she brought to our shared creative journey.”

The appreciation comes shortly after the makers unveiled Kiara Advani’s first look from the film on Sunday. She appears as Nadia, a character introduced through a strikingly glamorous visual set against a vibrant circus backdrop. While the imagery suggests elegance and spectacle, a closer look hints at emotional depth and complexity, suggesting a role layered with nuance and intensity.

Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has been filmed simultaneously in English and Kannada, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages. The film boasts a strong technical lineup, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid. The action sequences have been choreographed by Hollywood action director JJ Perry of John Wick fame, alongside National Award-winning action directors Anbariv.

The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Toxic is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, during a long festive weekend coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.

Headlined by Yash, the high-octane action drama also features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, and Sudev Nair.

Speaking earlier about the project, Akshay Oberoi had said, “I am confident Toxic will receive immense love because of its scale and strong production values. It is Yash’s first major project after KGF: Chapter 2, and expectations are naturally very high.”
