'I am a creation of God': Sherlyn Chopra urges people to embrace real bodies after breast implant removal

Mumbai — Actress *Sherlyn Chopra*, who has been in the spotlight following her decision to remove her breast implants, addressed the media on Thursday and spoke in detail about the reasons behind her choice.

Explaining what led to the decision, Sherlyn said:
“Today I am going to talk about why I chose to remove the implants. I had always thought that I was strong and always had this notion of ‘bigger the better’ (Bade Achhe Lagte Hain).”

Holding up the silicone implants she recently had removed, Sherlyn revealed that she had been suffering persistent health issues.
“From 2021 until November 10, I was continuously struggling with chronic pain — neck, shoulders, back, chest — along with shortness of breath, brain fog, and similar symptoms. After several medical investigations, it was found that the main cause was my heavy breast implants. You won’t believe it, but after having these heavy implants removed, I lost two kilograms. You can imagine the relief I felt.”

She said the removal not only relieved her pain but also freed her from “an artificial burden.”

Sherlyn cautioned against blindly following social media–driven beauty standards:
“In the pursuit of social media advice and views, we put our lives at risk by taking such irrational decisions. But now I don’t want my body involved in any of this. Enough is enough.”

She questioned the rigid beauty ideals society has internalized:
“The definition of a ‘sex bomb’ or ‘bombshell’ has been set by society. We are made to believe that a 36-24-36 figure is the perfect body. But who has set these statistics? Who decides what is a perfect figure and what is not?”

Emphasizing self-acceptance, Sherlyn added:
“It is high time we start embracing our authenticity, our realness. Maybe my breasts are small, maybe my nose is small… but whatever I am, I am a creation of God, and He loves me the way He has made me.”

Sherlyn Chopra underwent implant removal a few days ago and has since been encouraging others to love and accept themselves as they are.
