Rashmika Mandanna Writes a Heartfelt Letter to ‘All the Girlies Growing into the Woman They Love’

Mumbai – Actress Rashmika Mandanna, whose latest film The Girlfriend hit theatres on Friday, shared an emotional note dedicated to all the women discovering and embracing their true selves.

The Animal star posted the message on social media, calling it “a love letter to all the girlies growing into the woman they love.” In her post, Rashmika celebrated the strength of women who continue to grow despite being underestimated and acknowledged the men who empower them by standing beside them.

She wrote: “A love letter to all the girlies growing into the woman they love. To every girl who was told, ‘What do you know?’ and yet grew into a woman ‘who knows what she wants’. You’ve come a long way—give yourself that proud, tight hug. And to the men who’ve loved, not by leading but by standing beside—their love gave her the courage to find her voice.”

Dedicating The Girlfriend to “the love that liberates and does not limit,” Rashmika said the film celebrates the unspoken moments, the courage to choose oneself, and the journey of becoming one’s truest self.

She added, “I’ve poured my heart, my sensibilities, and every vulnerability into The Girlfriend journey, for you to feel seen, understood, and reminded of your own strength. If it makes you hold your life closer and fall in love with yourself again, my purpose is fulfilled.”

Rashmika concluded her post by inviting audiences to experience the film, saying, “A love letter to every journey from silence to strength… and to those who stood by, in love and in respect. #TheGirlfriend is now in theatres—it’s all yours. Come experience the journey of love, courage, and becoming.”

Directed by Rahul Ravindran, The Girlfriend stars Rashmika Mandanna alongside Dheekshith Shetty.
