Mumbai – Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, who is currently attending the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), shared her excitement about celebrating cinema, courage, and storytelling.
The actress took to Instagram to post a series of pictures from the TIFF red carpet and the scenic streets of Toronto, dazzling in a striking blue outfit.
She captioned the post: “A night that celebrates cinema, courage, and couture as well. From the heart of India to the red carpet in Toronto to the stories we bring to life, may we always stand tall, fierce, and free.”
Huma’s latest film, “Bayaan”, directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, has been officially selected for TIFF 2025. Notably, it is the only Indian entry in the Discovery section, a category that has previously launched filmmakers such as Christopher Nolan, Alfonso Cuarón, and Barry Jenkins.
The investigative police procedural stars Huma as police officer Roohi Kartar, alongside Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Paritosh Sand, Avijit Dutt, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Aditi Kanchan Singh, and Perry Chhabra.
Huma was last seen in “Tarla”, a biopic on celebrated chef and cookbook author Tarla Dalal. She will soon appear in “Jolly LLB 3”, directed by Subhash Kapoor, joining Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, and Saurabh Shukla in the courtroom comedy-drama.
Her upcoming projects also include “Pooja Meri Jaan”, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, which follows the story of a woman stalked by an anonymous admirer, and “Gulabi”, directed by Vipul Mehta, where she plays an auto-rickshaw driver in a film inspired by a true story of women’s empowerment.
