Five arrested for beating and making a woman go semi-nude in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh: Police has so far arrested five culprits including three women who were involved in beating up and making a woman go semi-naked in Murmatu village under Tatijharia Police Station area of this district.

Police on Monday arrested Rina Devi, Lajhaw Devi and Runwa Devi while two men identified as Binod Ganjhu and Deva Ganjhu were on Sunday itself arrested by the police and forwarded to jail. An FIR in this case was registered against eight named accused including six women and a couple of men.

The victim in her complaint to the police on Sunday had said that she had inquired into the marriage of her step-daughter from other relatives as the girl was being married without prior information to her. On the issue the family members tied the hands of the woman and thrashed her up in which women members of the family were also involved and she was made to go semi-naked in the village.
