Jamshedpur: Police has arrested five culprits for a gang rape which had taken place under Patmada Police Station area of the East Singhbhum district.
Officer incharge for Patmada Police Station Ashok Ram on Tuesday said that the incident had taken place on Monday night however all the culprits have been arrested.
Police said that victim alongwith her lover was sitting near a pond when the five culprits reached on the spot and after beating the lover they gang raped the girl. In the meantime the lover reached the police station and narrated the incident after which police swung into action and arrested the culprits.
The arrested have been identified as Dhanraj Mahto, Ranjeet Mahto, Kallu Mahto, Bullet Mahto and Hari Mahto. All of them live in Patmada Basti. They were later forwarded to jail.
