Chatra: In an encounter between police forces and ultras of Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee an area commander was killed.
The deceased Ultra has been identified as Mohan Ganju who was was a resident of Chuku village under Lawalong Police Station area.
From the spot, an AK 47, an SLR, a 315 rifle, wireless set, cartridges, bag packs and five mobile phones have been recovered.
Chatra SP Akhilesh P Beriyer said that police had received a tip-off regarding the presence of the ultras after which a joint team of the police teams from Latehar and Chatra along with Jharkhand Jaguar and CRPF conducted raids.
Upon seeing the policemen the ultras opened fire to which the security forces retaliated in which Ganjhu was killed while his other associates managed to flee.
