Raghubar directs to start bike ambulance service in 35 blocks in September

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that Jharkhand has made rapid progress in the area of the health sector which was mainly possible due to the policy and collective efforts but still more work was needed to be done in the sector.

Reviewing the functioning of Health Department at the project building here he said that Ayushman Bharat Yojana was started by Prime Minister from Jharkhand and so far 36.65 lakh people have got their golden cards and in the entire country Jharkhand was at the third position and pointed that for those people who have not received their golden cards the same would be provided to them by state government. He directed the officials that on a campaign mode the cards be made in the state from July 15.

Mr Das said that private hospitals have worked better under Ayushman Bharat Yojana and 1.73 lakh people were treated under the scheme in the state out of which 1.51 lakh patients were treated in the private hospitals and said

that three private hospitals which have performed best under Ayushman Bharat Scheme will be felicitated on September 25 on the occasion of anniversary of the scheme. He said that so far Rs 170 crore has been spent for the treatment of patients under the scheme and said that in case of any help people can call on helpline 12555.

The Chief Minister directed to organize clinics in the slums of the state from August onward in which there will be a facility for OPD and patients needing better treatment will be referred to other hospitals. He also said that bike ambulance service will be started in difficult terrains of the state and 35 such blocks have been identified for this were service will be started. He said that fund for the scheme would be provided from CSR.

Mr Das said that by doing small works the condition of government hospitals can be improved and directed the DC that a campaign should be held till July 31 for cleaning of the hospital premises while bed and other items which are in poor quality should be auctioned. He said that youth in the apparitional districts should be made skilled so that they can do small technical jobs in hospitals. He suggested that through Yoga many diseases can be averted and said that awareness has increased among the people for yoga and said that in all the panchayat buildings Yoga classes should be run so that people in villages can get connected to Yoga.

He said that reducing the maternal and infant mortality rate in the state is a priority for state government for which it was making serious efforts. He said that that infant mortality rate which was 34 per thousand in 2014 has reduced to 29 per thousand. Those present in the meeting included Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Development Commissioner Sukhdeo Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Barnwal, Secretary Health Nitin Madan Kulkarni and others.
