Brawl in Lohardaga and Bokaro, vehicles and shops set on fire

Lohardaga/Bokaro: Anti-social elements tried to flare up communal tension in these two districts causing a brawl during the Ramnavmi celebrations.

The first incident took place in Hirhi village under Sadar Police Station area of Lohardaga district where stones were pelted on Ramnavmi procession on the other hand in Gunj Mohallah under Rajabera of Phusro in Bokaro district stones were after which situation got out of control.

After the news of stone-pelting in Hirhi village under Sadar Police Station area of Lohardaga district, the fire of the incident spread to other villages. The anti-social elements set a dozen vehicles on fire.

Moreover, these elements also set on fire motorcycles, hand carts, a tempo, four cycles and many makeshift shops on fire which were put up as part of a Ramnavmi fair organized at Bhogta Bagicha under Sadar Police Station area causing losses of lakh. Soon people from the other community also set fire to two houses.

Upon receiving information senior officers of the Lohardaga district administration including SP and DC reached on the spot. Post the incident large number of policemen have been deployed in the area. In the brawl, three people have sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the Sadar Hospital. The situation in Hirhi, Kujra, Bhogta Bagicha was tense but under control, authorities said adding that the situation was normal in the urban pockets.

Separately on the bike procession taken out in Rajabeda of Phusro in Bokaro district stone was pelted in Gunj Mohallah.
