Manner in which Agriculture Bills passed in Rajya Sabha is unconstitutional: Oraon

Ranchi: JPCC Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon on Sunday said that the manner in which the Agriculture Bills have been passed in Rajya Sabha was unconstitutional and was against the farmers.

He said that through these bills the BJP wanted to provide benefits to the corporate friends and was trying to corporatise the farming sector. Dr Oraon said that the way the bill was passed in the upper house is like the murder of democracy.  He said that bills are against the farmers who will suffer massive losses moreover bringing the bills amid the Corona crisis smells of a large conspiracy.

Dr Oraon said that since the issue of agriculture is also related to the states therefore the Centre should have contacted the states before taking any such decision however time and again the Centre was damaging the federal structure of the country. He said that the party would oppose these bills in the same manner in which it had protested across the country against attempts made by BJP earlier to change the land acquisition act. Oraon said that through another route BJP was hatching a conspiracy to take away the land of farmers for its corporate friends.
