HC seeks report from Government over action taken against officer responsible for sending workers in buses

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Saturday asked the state government to tell what action it has taken against the officer who had violated the provisions of lockdown and had sent workers in buses to Pakur.

The court of Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad also sought answers as to on whose recommendation these workers were sent to Pakur from Ranchi. The government on its part said that a clarification has been sought from the official and once he replies a detailed information will be provided to the state government.

However, the court expressed its anger over the response of the government and said that it appears that effort was being made to protect the culprit officials. The court later fixed May 5 as the next date of hearing.

Earlier the court also sought action taken report from the government against Coronavirus. The government has been asked to detail the policy which it has framed to tackle Covid-19 in the state.

Further it sought answers regarding the number of people who have been provided ration, how many people have been served food and whether transgenders have been provided food or not.
