Businessman abducted from West Bengal rescued, 4 kidnappers arrested

Pakur: Police have rescued a trader who was kidnapped from the Murshidabad district of West Bengal and has arrested four kidnappers in this connection.

Briefing the press Pakur SP Rajeev Ranjan Singh said that the trader Nilankar Mandal was rescued safely from near a post office located under Mahespur police station area.

He said that in this connection four kidnappers Subhendu Kumar Das, Somnath Ghosh, Shivbarto Ray and Saugat Mitra have been arrested while a four-wheeler used in the kidnapping has been also seized.

The SP said that Mandal was abducted on January 15 from Murshidabad district after which the police of the area got in touch with Pakur police and sought its assistance to catch the kidnappers.

He said that one of the kidnappers Subhendu Kumar Das who hailed from Mahespur block of this district had kept the trader hidden in his house.

He said acting ion the mobile location police signaled a car going towards Gowalpada to stop but when the driver fled away the car was chased and caught the trader was rescued. From the arrested couple of laptops and 4 mobile phones have been recovered.
