Giridih: Police have arrested a couple of minors in connection with a murder which had taken place a day earlier under Panchamba Police Station area of this district.
Briefing the press Giridih SP Surendra Kumar Jha said that the deceased Ritesh Kumar Chowdhary (17) was murdered by his friends Siddharth Kumar Verma and Chotu Yadav who also happen to be minors. The SP said that Chotu was arrested from his home in Barganda while Siddharth was nabbed from Chitmadih village under Bengabad Police Station area of this district.
The SP said that both Ritesh and Siddharth had a liking for the same girl who happened to be the daughter of the landlord in whose home Ritesh was living as a tenant with his mother.
The girl was in a relationship with Siddharth with whom she had also secretly married in a temple.
A few days before the incident Ritesh had made his advances towards the girl which was objected by her and she narrated the incident to her lover. In return, Siddharth hatched a conspiracy with Chotu and took Ritesh to a forest area where they consumed ganja after which Ritesh was beaten with a heavy log due to which he died.
