Bandhu says decision to contest alone was not correct

Newly elected JVM-P MLA from Mandar Bandhu Tirkey said that the party’s decision to contest the polls alone in the state was wrong due to which the party had to bear the consequences in the elections.

Addressing a press conference here he said that since the beginning he wanted to contest the polls in alliance.

He said that BJP lost on 24 seats out of 26 seats which are reserved for tribals in the state which shows that the tribals were angry on its policies which were related to Jal Jungle and Zameen.

He said that decisions like making land bank, attempting changes in the CNT and SPT act, changes in land acquisition act, forceful acquisition of land for Adani power plant in Godda had angered the Adivasis and Moolvasis.

He demanded the state government to review the decision to allot the land to Adani power in Godda as the entire power generated will be sold to Bangladesh.

He said that the new government should solve all the issues related to land as the officials are not aware of the nature of land and online registration should be stopped.

Tirkey demanded that a land commission should be formed to decide the nature and land records. He also said that a survey should be held to identify the Jharkhandis and outsiders as the locals have first right over the jobs in the state.

The former HRD minister said the Delhi model of education system should be implemented in the state and demanded that soon new education policy should be formed which should solve the lack of teachers in the state.
