Goods train derail on Howrah-New Delhi main line

Jamtara: A goods train derailed at Kashitand railway station of this district which is located on Howrah-New Delhi mainline due to which train traffic movement has been adversely hit. Railway officials said that 17 coaches of the goods train have derailed however there was no casualty in the incident.

The goods train was on its way towards Jamtara from Vidyasagar station on the down line when suddenly it got derailed at Kashitand railway station. Locals said that such was the impact of the accident that while of the bogies fell into the field few others fell on a platform of the railway station due to which the passenger shed was also damaged.

Since the overhead electric line has also been badly damaged it is expected that it will take more than 12 hours to normalize the traffic on the line. Meanwhile a team of the experts have already reached on the spot and relief and repair measures were on.
