Ranchi: Ranchi Police has busted an interstate vehicle lifters gang and arrested six persons in this connection and claimed to solve more than 18 cases.
Addressing a press conference here SSP Ranchi Anish Gupta under city SP Sujata Veenapani a SIT was formed which on the basis of inputs and technical cell caught an interstate vehicle lifters gang. He said that the arrested used to use the vehicles for supplying liquor in Bihar.
Mr Gupta said that on Saturday it had received a secret tip off the kingpin of the gang Sonu Sao along with his two friends was coming to Ranchi with a stolen SUV and were planning another heist after which on ring road a vehicle checking drive was launched and Sonu Sao was arrested along with two other associates Arun Ram and Chatru Sao fled from the spot.
Following the inputs of the team four other members were nabbed in Chouparan from an eating joint while another member was nabbed from BIT Police Station area. From the arrested four SUVs and six mobile phones have been recovered. The SSP said that several cases are registered against Sonu Sao in different police station areas of Ranchi and Hazaribagh.
