Jharkhand Congress to fight assembly polls under Dr Ajay Kumar

Ranchi: The Congress party would be fighting the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in the state under the leadership of its present state unit head Dr Ajay Kumar.

Party sources claimed that the central leadership has once again shown their faith in Dr Ajay leading tourist all speculations which had started after the defeat of the party in the Lok Sabha elections post which allegations and  counter allegations had commenced after which it was widely expected that the central leadership of the party might be contemplating to change the state unit president.

Post the signals from the central leadership and emergency meeting was held in the party headquarters in which Dr Ajay Kumar has a short report from all the district unit chiefs over the defeat. In the report, it has been also said that action would be taken against such leaders who have indulged in anti-party activities and all the district unit chief have been asked to submit the report within a week.

On June 8 supporters of former Union Minister, Subodh Kant Sahay had opposed Dr Kumar during a meeting which had been called at the party headquarters to assess the reasons of defeat in the Lok Sabha polls. They had blamed Dr Kumar for the defeat of the party in the state.

Dr Kumar said that before the Lok Sabha election and later whatever the senior leaders and office bearers have spoken against the central and state leadership has to be provided along with proof. On the quota seat parties, Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari and former MP Furkan Ansari along with many other senior leaders of the Subodh Kant group had raised serious questions over the state leadership due to which the image of the party had taken a dent.

A senior worker of the party on condition of anonymity said that situation in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections are completely different and the manner in which in Kolibera Vixcel Kongadi was made a candidate that time also many people had raised questions over the leadership of Doctor Kumar but results are before everyone, therefore, it is sure that after the reports of the district unit chief Dr Ajay Kumar would continue to remain the state unit head.
