DGP D K Pandey retires from post, given a warm send off

Ranchi: An IPS officer of 1984 batch and Jharkhand DGP D K Pandey retired on Friday. He farewell function was organised at the Jap One grounds here where he was given the guard of honour. Mr Pandey had taken charge as the 11th DGP of Jharkhand on February 25, 2015. He had replaced the then DGP Rajeev Kumar.

It was widely speculated that Mr Pandey would be given a service extension of 3 months but it not happen. Speaker on his farewell function Mr Pandey said that his stint for the last 4 years in Jharkhand had been a very good one. He said that in the last 35 years he had learnt a lot and pointed out that he had served people in this role and is interested to continue the same.

The DGP suggested the policemen to work with dedication and answerability so that a better image for the police is created in the state. Mr Pandey had started his career as SP of Sitamarhi of unified Bihar.
