Battle Ground Jharkhand: NDA maintains its tally of 12 seats, Congress & JMM bag one each

Ranchi: Riding on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Jharkhand BJP along with its ally AJSU party won a total of 12 seats in the state while the Mahagathbandhan including the Congress and the JMM had to content themselves with one seat each.

BJP won from Palamu (SC), Hazaribagh, Dumka, Koderma, Chatra, Lohardaga, Khunti, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Godda and Ranchi seats while on the other hand, its alliance partner AJSU party has won from the Giridih seat.
On the other hand, JMM has managed to hold on to Rajmahal (ST) seat of Santhal Pargana region while Congress party which drew a blank in the polls of 2014 has managed to open its account by winning the Singhbhum (ST) seat.

BJP candidate Sunil Kumar Singh won by a margin of 3,77,871 votes against his nearest rival Manoj Kumar Yadav of the Congress on Chatra seat. PN Singh of the BJP registered a massive victory by 4,86,194 votes against his nearest rival Kriti Azad Jha of the Congress.

In Dumka Sunil Soren of the BJP emerged to be giant killer as he defeated JMM supremo Shibu Soren by a margin of 47,590 votes while in Giridih AJSU nominee Chandraprakash Chowdhary won by a margin of 2,48,347 votes defeating his nearest rival Jagarnath Mahto of the JMM. In Godda Nishikant Dubey of the BJP was ahead by 1,84,227 votes against Pradeep Yadav of the JVM(P).

In Hazaribagh Jayant Sinha of the BJP defeated his nearest rival Gopal Prasad Sahu of the Congress by a margin of 4,79, 548 votes while in Jamshedpur Vidut Baran Mahto of the BJP defeated his nearest rival Champai Soren of the JMM by a margin of 302090 votes.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda won by slender margin of 1445 votes in Khunti seat against his nearest rival Kalicharan Munda of the Congress while in Koderma Annapurna Devi defeated her nearest rival former Chief Minister and JVM(P) candidate Babulal Marandi by a margin of 4,55,660 votes.

In Lohardaga BJP candidate Sudarshan Bhagat won by a margin of 10,363 votes against Sukhdeo Bhagat of the Congress. On the other hand in Palamu VD Ram of the BJP had won by a margin of 4,77,606 votes defeating Ghuran Ram of the RJD.

Vijay Hansdek of the JMM has won from Rajmahal (ST) seat defeating his nearest rival Hemlal Murmu of the BJP by a margin of 99,195 votes while in Ranchi Sanjay Seth of the BJP won by 2,83,026 votes against Subodhkant Sahai of Congress and in Chaibasa Geeta Koda of Congress won by a margin of 72,155 votes against Laxman Giluwa of the BJP.
