Mahamilawatis have yet again attacked on the integrity of the country: Raghubar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that frustrated with sure defeat the Mahamilawatis have once again attacked the integrity of the nation and one should not expect much from such people who were demanding proof after the surgical strikes.

The comments of the Chief Minister followed after the election commission rejected the demand of the opposition parties to first match the VVPAT slips with EVM machines. A decision in this regard was taken following a meeting of the election commission.

On Wednesday a group of 22 opposition parties including Congress TMC and SP had met officials of the election commission and had demanded that before the start of the counting process the slips generated by VVPAT machines and EVMs should be matched.

The Chief Minister said that opposing the EVM is showing this respect towards the mandate given by the people and frustrated with their possible defeat the 22 parties have raised questions over the democratic process of the country and has maligned the image of the country and its democracy across the world and said that there was no logic behind the demand of these opposition parties.

The Chief Minister said that the opposition has started to create an uproar over the EVM after the end of six phases of the election and this uproar intensified further after the result shown by the exit polls and said that opposition should understand that exit polls are not done on EVM but is carried out after asking questions from the voters after they have cast their votes.
