Secretary water resources Dept ask Town Commission to conduct probe of water connections

Ranchi: Secretary of the drinking water and sanitation department Aradhana Patnaik has instructed the Town Commissioner of the RMC to conduct surprise visit at the big establishments and verify their water connections and said that in all places water flow meter should be put up so that assessment of water being used by them can be made.

Reviewing the functioning of the Ranchi Urban Water Supply scheme at her office here she said numerous complaints have been received that many such institutions have taken water connection through wrong means and despite using a large amount of water do not pay their bill adequately. She has asked the town commissioner to open a common control room in the RMC office from where complaints related to water crisis from across the city can be solved. She also asked to publish the names of engineers of the departments concerned.

Ms Patnaik also reviewed the other schemes which have been approved for improvement in the Ranchi Urban Water Supply Scheme. Those present in the meeting also included Town Commissioner Manoj Kumar, Chief engineer Shwetabh Kumar and others.
