Chief Electoral Officer reviews poll preparations in Palamu

Daltonganj: Chief Electoral Officer L Khiyangate held a review meeting to assess the preparations for the polls in the Palamu Lok Sabha area with the senior officials of the police and district administration.

During the review meeting, the CEO instructed to ensure that no lapse should be done in the election work and all basic amenities as per the requirement of the voters should be put in place at the polling booths. He suggested that in wake of the election adequate arrangements for law and order should be made and also highlighted to conduct the polls peacefully on the sensitive and very sensitive booths.

He also directed to put restrictions on unauthorized entry at the polling clusters and polling booths. On the other hand, Additional Chief Secretary Vinay Choubey collected information regarding the voter slips being provided to the voters over which the district electoral officer said that the task of distributing the voter slips was in the final stages and will be completed soon.

District Electoral Officer of Palamu Shantanu Kumar Agrahari and District Electoral Officer Harsh Mangla apprised the CEO that all basic amenities have been arranged at the polling booths which would be monitored through CCTV cameras. They said that the facility of webcasting has been also made. Mr Khiynagate asked the officials to keep a special eye on the polling in the Maoist dominated areas.
