Pakur: A team of the forest department has seized ammonium nitrate weighing about 2,300 kilograms from Domangadiya village under Pakuria Police Station area of this district. Forest Ranger Anil Kumar Singh said he had received a secret tip off regarding illegal wood being transported in a Hyva to West Bengal after which a vehicle checking drive was launched in the area.
He said that a vehicle without number plate was asked to stop but instead the driver jumped from the vehicle and ran away. Upon searching it was found full of 46 sacks of ammonium nitrate weighing about 2,300 kilograms after which the police was alerted.
