More than 50 leaders and workers resign from JD(U)

Daltonganj: More than 50 leaders and workers of the state unit of JD (U) have jointly resigned from the party. Prominent among them who have resigned from the party included state general secretary Baijnath Ram Gopi, state secretary Balram Tiwari and state working committee member Ashok Nigam etc.

In a joint resignation which has been sent to national president Nitish Kumar they have said that the incharge for party affairs in Jharkhand had assured them that the party will look to contest on 7-8 seats in the state and a proposal in this regard was also passed in the meeting of the state committee.

However later the party leadership took a one sided decision of not contesting elections in Jharkhand due to which the party workers are in deep anger and alleged that instead of being a political party the JD (U) has become an NGO which is being run by a convenor.
