Annapurna Devi meets Raghubar and Bhupendra Yadav, fuels talks of joining

Ranchi: State RJD president Annapurna Devi late Sunday evening met Chief Minister Raghubar Das and BJP’s National General Secretary and MP Bhupender Yadav at the CM residence here amid speculations of her joining the BJP. Not only Ms Annapurna but other leaders of the Jharkhand RJD including former Chatra MLA Janardhan Paswan and former MP Manoj Bhuiyaan also met the chief minister and Mr Yadav. Since last couple of days talks of Ms Annapurna of joining the BJP was doing the rounds and that she would be also fielded as a party candidate from Koderma or even Chatra Lok Sabha seat as on these two seats and Ranchi the BJP was yet to announce its candidates.

However as the media gathered outside the chief minister’s house she along with the other RJD leaders made an exit from the back door. One of her close associates’ did confirmed that the meeting had taken place, however further details are being still worked on as to whether the joining will take place in Ranchi or Delhi. Earlier in the day the RJD had held a press conference which was addressed by former MLA and General Secretary of the party Sanjay Singh Yadav who had refuted all the talks of his state president joining the BJP and even in the joint press conference of the mahagathbandhan the RJD was not represented.

If Ms Annapurna does make an exit along with her other partymen than it would be a major set back not only for the RJD in Jharkhand
but also for Mahagathbandhan as she has represented Koderma seat twice in the assembly and has also served as a cabinet minister.
