All facilities to be present for Divyang voters at polling booths

Ranchi: To ensure that the Divyang voters are able to cast their votes during the Lok Sabha elections of 2019 as per the directions of the election commission of India the Chief Electoral Officer of the state has issued necessary directions to all the district electoral officers. As part of the directions Mr Shabir Ahmed Deputy secretary Chief Electoral Officer office, Jharkhand Ranchi has been appointed as the state Nodal Officer and Shweta Gupta assistant director of the women and child development directorate has been appointed as the state coordinator who would be ensuring adequate arrangements for the Divyang voters to cast their votes. 

Additional chief electoral officer Manish Ranjan said that at the state level for blind divyangs 15831 voter slips in Braille Script has been readied and all DEOs have been directed to prepare dummy ballot sheets and voter guides in Braille literature for the Divyang blind voters. All dummy ballot sheets would be provided at polling booths and blind voters would be made aware about the election process through the dummy ballot sheet so that they can properly use their votes. The voter guide would also be provided to the blind Divyang voters so that they can easily understand the election process.

For the Divyang voters so far out of 29464 polling booths in 28219 polling booths facilities of Ramp has been provided. For sensitizing of personnel to be deployed on election duty and BLOs nominated district nodal officer and two master trainers for each district would be provided training at the office of the chief electoral officer after which they would be providing training in their respective districts. Apart from that for the divyang voters facilities of wheelchair, pick and drop facilities and other help would be provided.
