Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Draupdi Murmu on Wednesday said that there is immense potential for industrial growth in this region. “ Trained youths from the institutions must be motivated enough to initiate their own enterprises, thereby creating employment opportunities for others to move forward. I am sure many of you will consider setting up your own ventures to give shape to your innovative ideas. By doing so you will become the job creators and you will be able to add economic values to the society. In doing so, you can avail the benefits of the schemes of the Government which encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. A lot of
responsibilities lie in front of you. You have to make the world brighter. I am sure, you will not hesitate in taking up worthy challenges in your careers” said, governor, while speaking 29th convocation ceremony of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.

She said “ India is forging ahead in engineering and technological innovations, and BIT Mesra has made many notable contributions. I expect that it will continue to do so in future with renewed vigour and enthusiasm. The Government has taken important initiatives for social development. I am confident that BIT Mesra will take an active part in those drives. BIT Mesra will look at the possibilities of imparting specific technical skills to the people who will make significant contributions to the society”. She said “ The technical institutions, apart from being centres of scientific learning, must induce social orientation in their students. They must help build consciousness amongst the budding engineers and scientists. They must develop a pool of professional with ingenuity to find solutions to socio-economic problems, who will assume greater responsibilities for overall development. The institutions must encourage their students to follow their curiosity and explore their creativity. They must equip their students to think beyond their textbooks and spur inventive ideas. Research must find attention which is an integral part to enhance the teaching-learning process.
