Cabinet Decisions: Jharkhand govt to give Rs 1000 as part of state sponsored pension schemes

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has decided to increase the amount in all the state-sponsored pension scheme to Rs 1000 which would benefit 20.29 lakh people in the state. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet which was chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das at the project building here. However, the new amount would he paid to the beneficiaries with effect from April 1, 2019.

It has been decided that under the Indira Gandhi National old age pension scheme the share of the state government has been increased and now the beneficiary would get Rs 1000 per month similarly under Indira Gandhi National widow pension scheme and Indira Gandhi National Divyang pension scheme the states share has also been increased and beneficiaries of these two schemes would also be getting Rs 1000 per month. On on the other hand among the state sponsored schemes which include social security pension scheme, primitive tribe pension scheme, state widow pension scheme and Swami Vivekanand Nishakt Swablam Protsahan Yojana the pension amounts have been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 1000. 

The government has also decided that the pension paid to the AIDS patients under social security scheme of the state has also been increased to Rs 1000 from the previous Rs 600. In another key decision the state government has decided to simplify the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna under which the provisions regarding the demand of income certificate has been done away with and instead on the basis of the socio-economic census of 2011 under 27,46,106 families in the rural areas and Antodaya ration card holder families whose numbers is 9,11,217 would be provided Rs 30,000 at the time of the marriage of their daughters through DBT.

amendment in Jharkhand free and compulsory child education right rules 2019 was also approved by the cabinet.

The cabinet has also approved a decision to decide the process of providing Mukhyamantri Medha Chhatravriti Yojana among the students of class 9th to 12th studying in the government schools of the state. The government has also approved a sum of Rs 104.42 crore which includes the cost of construction of 264 lampx/pac offices along with godowns and also is inclusive of the agency charge for Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Ltd. It was also decided that an area of 34 dismil would be given to Jharkhand State Legal services council in Kadru at payment of Re 1 for a period of 30 years of lease.

The government also decided to regularise the jobs of the contractual employees those who were posted in Jharkhand Bhawan in New Delhi following a verdict of the high court. Under the Jharkhand excise rules the government had also approved to make changes in section 23(4). Further the cabinet also approved transfer of road projects of Bokaro Godda Sahibganj Saraikela and Deoghar districts from the rural development department to the road construction department.
