Government has worked to honour tribal language culture and traditions: CM

Dumka: Reassuring the people regarding his commitment for the development of the Santhal Pargana region Chief Minister Raghubar Das said his government has worked to honour the tribal culture language and traditions. Addressing a divisional level meet of the workers of Olchiki language at the indoor stadium here he said that prior governments did not worry about the tribals but after he came into power is government worked to preserve the tribal culture and tradition of the Santhal Pargana region which was reflected in the fact that efforts were made to enrich the Santhali language and its development while a separate tribal ministry was also formed.

He said that the government has decided that the Olchiki language would be taught from classes 125 and in the first phase it would be taught in classes 1 and 2 and later would be extended till class 5. Directed that the names of the block and even the Collectorate buildings in the Santhal Pargana region should be named in Olchiki within 15 days. He said that until the teachers of Olchiki language are appointed till then the Youth from the panchayat should be appointed on per class basis and should be paid money accordingly.

The Chief Minister said that the tribals have been living since the ancient era and the brave men from the community shed their blood for the independence of the nation but after Independence, no one remembered these Bravehearts but only politics was done in their name. However it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi sorry called the works done by Bhagwan Birsa Munda from the Red Fort and also sanctioned a sum of rupees 25 crores to build a museum in his memory so that the future generations can be reminded of their great work and would also help in protecting and enriching the language literature and traditions of the tribals.

The Chief Minister said that some people are spreading fake rumours that the government would lose their land and asked to point instances where the land of the tribals have been forcibly taken away. He said that being the chief minister of the state he was ready to declare his property but also called upon the heads of all other parties to declare their property in the public and said that some of the people in the name of development of the tribals thought of their development only.

He said that some anti-national forces are trying to destroy the language tradition and culture of the tribals and youth should pay their attention towards them and should not be lured by some money to destroy their own culture and asked them to create awareness among them. Chief Minister said that the government has respect for all the religions but the forceful religious conversion would not be tolerated at any cost.
