Mega Health Camp organised in Khunti, more than 60,000 people treated

Khunti: A mega healthy fair was organized on the Birsa College campus of this district under the new initiative Tribal Dialogue on the topic ‘Abua Bugin Swathya’ ie ‘Our better health’. The program was organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with the local district administration. In this health camp, more than 60 thousand rural women and men got their health check-ups done by more than 350 specialist doctors of different dimensions from major hospitals across the country.

The chief guest of this program was the Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais and at the same time, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda was also present. Padma Bhushan and former Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Kariya Munda, local MLAs Koche Munda and Neelkanth Singh Munda, and others also graced the occasion.

At the fair, general check-up of all major diseases was done free of- cost and along with that medicines were also distributed. ALIMCO also provided artificial limb devices to 3000 differently-abled people. More than 100 people donated blood while Glasses were given to 25000 people.

In his address, the Governor said that it is very good to see this program happening in the land of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He said that the tribes have an unforgettable contribution to the freedom of the country and Jharkhand is the land of heroes. He said that Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated all over the country and good health brings true happiness. He said that he was sure that people will be treated better at this health fair and suggested taking such efforts at the village level only then its benefit will reach the common people.

After the completion of the program, he also took stock of all the health checkup stalls. Addressing this program Union Minister Arjun Munda said that he was proud to organize such a big health fair on the land of Birsa Munda and assured that he will continue to organize such events in the future also. This new initiative health fair will increase the honor of the district and even though people may not get happiness by coming but going home they will definitely feel a moment of happiness.
