Sahibganj: Unidentified criminals shot dead a man at Namai Ganga Ghat located at Sarkanda under Rajmahal Police Station area of this district. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Yadav (48).
The criminals executed the incident when the man was supervising the loading of stone chips on the boat. Miffed over the incident the locals blocked the main road connecting Rajmahal to Sahibganj at Sarkanda for five hours. Upon receiving information a police team reached on the spot and inquired into the incident. Later the body of the deceased was handed over to the family members after conducting the postmortem.
Eye witnesses said that three men on foot reached the ghat and inquired about Sanjay. After a person took them to him they fired five bullets on him from close range and later also fired in the air to disperse the people and fled from the spot.
