Power plants will not face any problems due to lack of coal: Prahlad Joshi

Chatra/Ranchi: Union Minister for Coal Prahlad Joshi had reached the state during which he visited the Ashok Coal Project of the Central Coal Fields Ltd located in Piparwar of this district.

Upon his arrival at the helipad at Chatra, he was welcomed by CCL CMD PM Prasad, Chatra DC Anjali Yadav, SP Rakesh Ranjan and Simaria MLA Kishun Das.

As part of the visit, the minister along with the officials of the CCL inspected the mining work at the project and collected information regarding the production and dispatch of coal. He also directed the officials to necessary steps to increase the production from the mines.

Later he said that he did not wish to indulge in politics over the issue of lack of coal. He said that at the present he was more focused to meet the coal requirements of the power plants in the country.

The minister assured that there will be no scarcity of coal for the power plants in the country. He said that by visiting the mines he wanted to collect first-hand information regarding production and despatch works.

Adding further he said that the demand of two million tonnes from the Power Ministry has become stable from Wednesday and going forward the Coal ministry is working to increase production and supply of coal.

The minister later visited the Bachra siding project in Ranchi and held a high-level meeting at the CCL headquarters during which he gave necessary instructions to the officials.
