DC Chhavi Ranjan chairs district level peace committee meet over festivals of Shab-e-Baraat & Holi

Ranchi: DC Chhavi Ranjan along with Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Jha chaired a meeting of the district level peace committee in wake of the festivals of Shab-e-Baraat and Holi.

During the meeting members of the various peace, the committee raised their issues over which the officials assured to make necessary arrangements.

The DC while addressing the meeting said that once again coronavirus is spreading its wings, therefore, there was a need to adopt precautions. He said that for the festivals of Holika Dahan Shab-e-Baraat and Holi as much as possible people should remain in their home and observe the festivals. He said to prevent from infection people should follow social distancing mask and sanitizers. He said that everyone in their pockets should must keep sanitizer.

He said that over the last one year the people of Ranchi have extended their full cooperation to the district administration in its fight against coronavirus and exuded hope that during the festival also people will be supporting the district administration. He asked the members of the peace committee to celebrate the festivals in peaceful environment and brotherhood.

The DC urged the people not to fall prey to rumours being circulated on social media and said that in case of any information the facts should be first verified and the messages should be forwarded to him or the SSP Ranchi.

SSP Surendra Kumar Jha said that people should adopt caution and resist from shaking hands or exchanging greetings with any form of physical contact. He said that the cyber cell has been made active to keep an eye on social media and even a vigil be maintained on the troublemakers.

SSP said that maintaining law and order is the main objective of the police in which corporation of the peace committee was important. He said that in wake of the festivals elaborate security arrangements have been made and across the entire City through CCTV cameras monitoring is being done while help of drone cameras will be also taken for surveillance. He said for the festivals adequate number of magistrates and policemen will be also deployed.
