Gumla: A jawan of the CRPF's 218th battalion was injured in an IED blast executed by the maoists in a forest located under Kurumgarh Police Station area of this district.
Police said that the injured jawan Robins Kumar who hails from Begusarai district of Bihar was airlifted from the spot and has been admitted at Medica Hospital in Ranchi.
Police said that following information regarding the presence of maoists in Rodeng village a team of district police and CRPF launched search operations. Upon seeing the security personnel the ultras opened fire which was retaliated back after which the maoists fled.
The security personnel were busy in their search and combing operations when the IED blast was executed in which the jawan sustained injuries in both legs.
