Jharkhand HC stops appointment of Assistant Professor in Kolhan University

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has stopped the process of appointment of Assitant Professors in Kolhan University, Chaibsa.

The court of justice SK Dwivedi passed an order in this regard and has also sought a response from the university and the state government over the issue.

In the year 2017 the state government had appointed Assistant Professors in Kolhan, Vinoba Bhave and Koylanchal Vishwadiyalas and every year their contract was increased. However, in January the state government issued a new advertisement for the appointment of Assitant Professors stating that the contract of the Assitant Professors appointed in the year 2017-18 was going to end on March 31, 2021.

The government had said that people who were working earlier were also eligible to apply in wake of the new advertisement after which the matter went to the court. The court has only stopped the appointment process in Kolhan University while the cases related to Vinoba Bhave and Koylanchal Universities are still pending before the court.
