Elephants created havoc in Keredari of Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh: A group of elephants has created havoc in Keredari block of this district by destroying homes and damaging crops. Villagers said that the elephants destroyed seven homes in Badkaam Tola and also ate away the paddy.

Later they also destroyed the vegetables and sugarcane crops in Pasiya Bandh and Sarkundwa villages. Due to the elephant menace the villagers were in terror. Later a team led by BDO Amit Kumar Srivastav and officer incharge for Keredari Police Station Amit Kumar reached on the spot and inquired into the incident and also briefed the higher authorities and officials of the forest department.

They asked the villagers not to go in their fields as the group of elephants has seven baby children among them due to which they are dangerous and will not be also easily scared away from the area. They assured the people that their losses will be compensated by the forest department.
