Policies and Rules have been set aside for land acquisition in Jharkhand: Sudesh

Ranchi (By our correspondent): AJSU party supremo Sudesh Kumar Mahto said that there was a feeling of fear among the farmers of the state as all policies and rules have been set aside for acquisition of land in Jharkhand. In a series of interaction with the villagers of Barkagaon and Keredari on the course of the Swaraj Swabhimaan Yatra here he said that view of the common people and interaction with the people which is part of the land acquisition policy has been ignored in the state as middlemen were involved in land dealings.

Mr Mahto said that all government officials from top to bottom in Hazaribagh have become the servants of the NTPC while those in power never cared about the farmers and the well being of the common people. He said that he was ready to be a part of the people’s agitation as when the villages and the farmers will be protected than no the future generations will be prevented from destruction. 

Mr Mahto said that Jharkhand has been witness to the pain of displacement as while on one hand, the coal of the state was lighting up the nation the villages were in darkness and said that in course of the yatra the people have informed him that the land was forcibly taken away from them without their consent.
