Coronavirus tally in state reaches 96,842 as 490 cases found on Monday

Ranchi: The Coronavirus patients tally in the state reached to 96,842 as a total of 490 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected across all the 24 districts of Jharkhand on Monday.

During the day 3 deaths were reported including 1 each from  Bokaro, Dhanbad, and East Singhbhum districts after which the overall death count has increased to 842 in the state. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.86 percent.

As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 6,220 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 89,780. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 842.

On Monday a maximum number of 152 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 77 from Bokaro, 52 from East Singhbhum, 31 from Dhanbad and 29 from Ramgarh (top five districts).

A total of the number of 769 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 338 from Ranchi, 60 from East Singhbhum, 41 from Sahebganj, 35 from Hazaribagh and 29 from Dhanbad.

Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 92 percent mark to currently stand at 92.70 percent in Jharkhand.

So far in the state 28,97,203 samples have been collected out of which 28,82,567 have been tested and 27,85,725 have turned out to be negative.
