Ranchi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed back former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi into the BJP who after 14 years staged the 'Ghar-wapsi' in his presence by merging his regional outfit Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik with the BJP.
Addressing a huge turnout of workers from both the parties at the Jagannath Maidan Mr Shah said that after many years Mr Marandi has staged a Ghar-wapsi with the symbol of the lotus. "I welcome Babulal Marandi and his party workers into the BJP and assure you that they will never feel as if they had come from outside," he said adding that due to some reasons Mr Marandi had parted ways and has shown how one can live without power and still work for the people.
Mr Shah said that after taking over as national president of party in 2014 itself he had been making efforts to bring back Mr Marandi into BJP however since he is a bit 'stubborn' therefore he did not relent easily but now he has accepted the wish of everyone and has come back to the BJP. Mr Shah said that with his arrival party and local leadership will gain strength.
He in his message to the party workers said that they should not be let down by the result of the assembly elections as for the BJP it is never about winning or losing but what matters most is to take the country and the state forward as BJP for years has sat in the opposition.
Heaping praise on the previous Raghubar Das government of the state he said that he had from very close quarters watched the functioning of the BJP government which implemented all the schemes of the Modi government in the state including providing power in each and every home, construction of toilets, opening of bank accounts and soon water in every home through pipelines would be available.
All the schemes which the Modi government started for the poor, tribals and dalits in the country was effectively implemented in the state he said adding that the party accepted the mandate given by the people and promised that legislators of the party will work more when they are in opposition.
