Ranchi: In a major success against the anti-insurgency operations in the state a joint team of the Ranchi and Latehar Police has arrested four ultras belonging to the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including an AK-56 from their possession.
Addressing a press conference here Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said that all the modern weapons which have been recovered from
the ultras were looted from the police. He said that the serial numbers of these weapons would be sent to the neighboring districts
to verify from where these were looted by the Maoists and will also probe as to how these arms reached to them. He said that the ultras had gathered in the area to execute a big incident but before they could succeed in their plans a raid was conducted and these men were nabbed. The items recovered from them included an AK-56, An AK-47 and three rifles along with a total of about 1800 cartridges.
The arrested have been identified as Kamlesh Ganjhu, Binod Kumar Mahto, Avinash Ji alias Kamlesh Ganjhu and Jagdish Ganjhu.
