New Delhi (IANS) National carrier Air India's second special flight to the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the novel coronavirus outbreak, landed at the IGI airport here on Sunday with 323 Indian and seven Maldivian citizens onboard.
The flight departed at 3.10 a.m. (IST) from Wuhan on Sunday and landed at New Delhi airport around 9.45 a.m.
"The second flight from Wuhan has just landed in Delhi. We wish all those onboard good health in the days ahead. Once again, thank you AirIndia, Team @MEAIndia and @MFA_China @DrSJaishankar @PMOIndia," Ambassador of India to China Vikram Mistry tweeted.
Seven Maldivian citizens were also evacuated on the same plane. They will be housed in Delhi for a period of quarantine.
"The Air India flight with 7 Maldivians and 323 Indian citizens has landed safely in Delhi," Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid tweeted.
"Deep gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, EAM S Jaishankar. Special thanks to Ambassadors Vikram Mistry and Sunjay Sudhir and their teams," he said in another tweet.
The first Air India flight brought back 324 Indians stranded in Wuhan on Saturday.
The flight also ferried a team of five doctors from the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital and one paramedical staff from Air India.
