SDO goes strict over spurious sweets being sold in shops for Diwali

Ranchi (By our correspondent): SDO Garima Singh collected samples from many renowned sweet shops of the city following inputs
of these sweets being manufactured with adulterated materials and said that especially during the festival of Diwali there are lots of
complaints, therefore, this special drive was being conducted.

She said that the action was part of the food safety act and the seized samples would be sent to a food testing lab in Namkum after which action would be taken against guiltu shop owners. Earlier also Ms Singh had collected food samples from different eating joints of the city and so far reports for five such samples have come out of which four were found to be substandard. After these samples were found to substandard a notice was slapped in which the owners were asked to reply within 20 days.
