District administration to take action against traders selling crackers on higher rates

Ranchi (By our correspondent): Following the complaints of firecrackers being sold on very high prices by the traders the Ranchi
district administration has decided to launch a probe in this regard and if any person is found guilty then action as per the rule would be initiated.

The district administration has issued a temporary license to 445 wholesale and retail traders to sell firecrackers for which
four clusters have been marked where these shops can be opened. Those who have been given temporary license also included traders of rural areas like Bundu and Tamar.

Among the four clusters which have been made by the district administration, the maximum number of 50 shops will open in Jaipal Singh Stadium while another 42 in Harmu Grounds, 29 in Seth Sitaram School and 17 others in Morhabadi grounds. 307 other licenses have been issued where shops can be opened in less densely populated areas.

The firecracker sellers have been asked to fulfil all criteria’s to make arrangements in case of a fire break out as part of which they
have been instructed to keep water and sand stocks along with fire extinguishers at the spot. The district administration will also
deploy firefighting engines at all the four major venues.
