Muslim religious leaders welcome Ayodhya verdict

Lucknow (IANS) Muslim religious leaders on Saturday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case.

One of the litigants, Iqbal Ansari said, "We respect the decision of the Supreme Court and accept it. Now we will have to see where the land for the mosque is been provided. However, the decision of the apex court has solved the long-pending issue of the country."

Member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Imam of Aishbagh Idgah, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali said, "We welcome the decision of the apex court. We have always said that we will abide by the decision of the Supreme Court. Our appeal to all is to maintain peace and harmony. Our legal committee will study the decision and will give the final statement."

Spokesperson of All India Shia Personal Law Board Maulana Yasoob Abbas said, "We accept the Supreme Court's verdict and stand by that. We will wait for the opinion of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and then study the verdict in detail in legal terms."

President of All India Shia Markazi Chand Committee Saif Abbas said, "As we have always said that we will go by the decision of the Supreme Court, so we respect and accept the decision. We appeal to the people to maintain brotherhood and harmony."
