Be the voice for poor, perform duties rising above caste & religion: CMs

Hazaribagh Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has asked the newly appointed sub-inspectors in the state police to be the voice of the poor and exploited and in their line of duty they should function rising above their caste and religion.

Addressing the passing out ceremony for the newly appointed sub-inspectors he said that their recruitment has been made by the Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission in a transparent and corruption-free manner which is a fine example of the working style of the present government as a result of which more than 2,500 sub-inspectors have been appointed.

He said that those who have been appointed included candidates hailing from weaker and smaller sections including tribals and minorities who managed to get the job on the basis of their talent and for this all the personnel involved in the selection process should be congratulated.

In his message to the policemen, he asked them to establish proper contact with the people and serve the society with honestly.

Mr Das said that in any circumstances they should stand with the people and win their trust and play their vital role in making the state free from corruption and maoists. The Chief Minister said that making a corruption and maoist free Jharkhand is a priority for his government.

He asked the policemen to have friendly relationship with the people.

Mr Das said that appointment of the policemen is one of the key achievements of his tenure for which he also needed to thank the officials of the home department and also to those of the finance department who ensured that the training programme concluded without any obstacle. He assured that all the training institutions for the police will be equipped with modern facilities so that in future also quality and professional training can be provided.

DGP Kamal Nayan Choubey said that as per the population there was a need of police personnel. He said that appointment of 11,000 constables and more than 5,000 police personnel was an achievement and said that police should look after the poor and weaker sections. The DGP said that crime control is a key ingredient for any state and maoists were breathing their last in Jharkhand.

Those present on the occasion also included Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha, Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal, ADG Anil Palta and other senior officials.
