Ranchi (By our Correspondent): Urging the people to come forward for blood donation Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that by this noble gesture lives of numerous needy, poor and emergency patients can be saved. Addressing the people during the blood donation camp organized at the collectorate here on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan he said that in the present era new diseases are being diagnosed every day and the numbers of patients are increasing. He said that on numerous occasion people have to take the services of middlemen to get the blood. Mr. Das said that to tide over the issue of blood crisis in the state the government has given a call for blood donation and has also announced that such government employees who would donate blood they would be eligible for one day off by the government. He said that due to lack of
blood many young children in the state fall prey to Thalassemia, Anemia and Sickle Cell disease and said that the blood donated by the people will go a long way to save the lives of the people.
The Chief Minister said that before becoming the MLA he too also participated in the blood donation camp and asked the officials said that blood donation should not be confined to one single day but it should be regularly held in the districts as regular blood donations will make sure the blood banks remain full which can be given to the needy free of cost. Mr.Das said that after Navratri he too would himself be donating blood. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed a letter of appreciation among those who had donated their blood.
Speaking on the occasion Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpat Rey said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister the district administration has organised blood donation and awareness campaign. He said that the staff of the collectorate are participating in large numbers in this programme and such camps will be also organised in future.
