Ranchi: The fringe outfits of the ultras have turned on to become the biggest headache for Jharkhand and are being operated by cadres who were earlier working for Maoists but have now parted their ways and have formed their own groups.
These outfits for collection of levy indulge in arson and create disturbance in the development purpose and also execute contract killings.
According to sources in the last 18 months, this is smaller organizations have executed 105 incidents which mostly included arson firing and creating disturbance in development works due to nonpayment of the levy.
There are more than 12 such small organizations including PLFI Jharkhand Liberation Tigers TPC Jharkhand Sangharsh Morcha etc who used to earlier work for the Maoists but now have separated and formed their separate gangs.
These groups are currently causing more damage than the Maoists in the state as through levy not only they were accumulating wealth but with the use of the funds, they are also strengthening their organization.
These organizations collect levy from coal traders contractors and companies involved in coal mining and whenever levy is not paid to them they disturb coal transportation and other development works and also execute arson.
